In Kindergarten, we do NOT have individual goals for the students. We will have a classroom goal. The goal will be 15 points a marking period. Each child will have the opportunity to help their class meet this goal by scoring points on their test.

The children choose a book from the Accelerated Reader books that are brought to our classroom. The books are rotated among the students (weekly) until each student has read all the books. Then a new selection of A.R. books are brought to our classroom for the children to choose from.

Each week:

• On Monday, each child takes home a book in a Zip-Loc bag.
• During the week the story is read to the child (at home).
• On Thursday, the books MUST be returned to school.
• On Friday, volunteer Moms come to school to test the children on their story.
  (The test usually consists of five or ten multiple-choice questions that check their comprehension.)
