St. Valentine Catholic School’s dress code encourages a neat appearance. If you question the appropriateness of an article of clothing, then it shouldn’t be worn. Clothing should be clean, neat, appropriate, and not disruptive to the learning environment or present a danger to health or safety of the students or others.
The dress code for all students for every day except Mass Day is as follows:
- Jeans, shorts or slacks in good condition
- Sweatshirts, sweaters and shirts must be in good taste
- Socks will be worn at all times
- Tennis shoes are allowed, however for safety reasons, backless shoes are not permitted
- All pants must be to the ankles and must not be tight fitting
- Shorts must not be shorter than one inch above the middle of the kneecap
and must not be tight fitting
- Girls are not allowed to wear make-up and no excessive jewelry, including long dangling earrings
- Hair must be out of students’ faces. Boys: hair should be off the collar.
- No wild hairstyles and/or coloring, dyeing, highlighting of hair for both girls and boys
The Principal will make final decisions on the dress code. If there is a question as to whether clothing is acceptable, bring the article of clothing in before it is worn.
